Description Provides anesthesia services to patients in Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and in other areas of the hospital. Provides clinical instruction to nurse anesthesia students.

Edu:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

Graduate from an accredited school of anesthesia.

Exper:
Experience as a clinical instructor preferred.

Lic/Cert:
Current Michigan license to practice as a Registered Nurse.

Lic/Cert:
Current specialty certification as a Nurse Anesthetist by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Lic/Cert:
Current certification by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.

Lic/Cert:
Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Skill:
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with all members of the Operating Room team. Skills and abilities to demonstrate problem solving techniques, making independent decisions.

Skill:
Analytical abilities to prepare anesthesia plans based on patient''s interview, lab findings, history and surgical procedure.

Skill:
Visual, aural, and olfactory acuity sufficient to monitor anesthetized patient''s condition; physical and mental stamina for prolonged periods of stressful situations. Manual dexterity necessary to perform delicate tasks effectively and quickly.

Skill:
Physical fitness sufficient to transport patients; walk, bend, and twist; push and lift equipment and patient; stand
