Description

Essential Functions:

  • Accountability for all operations within processing plant and shipping warehouse
  • Schedule flexible with workload.  Weekends will be required as needed.
  • Responsible to support management functions for high-energy facility that operates multiple processes producing various products.
  • Management and enhancement of ongoing plant safety programs.
  • Management and enhancement of use of Continuous Improvement objectives and tools.
  • Accountable for and coordinates production, maintenance and logistics in accordance with policies, principles and procedures established by management.
  • Assure quality of all mill shipments.
  • Assist in developing plans for efficient use of materials, machines and employees.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance on baler, forklifts and trucks.
  • Monitor housekeeping of building and surrounding grounds, including street and neighborhood.

 

Mandatory Education Requirements (Schooling, certification, licensure that is essential to success in the position):

  • A minimum Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus seven to ten years related progressive management experience and/or training in a manufacturing or warehousing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Mandatory Experience Requirements (Work experience that is essential to success in the position:

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.  Must be able convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have quick problem solving ability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complete information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraint the particular need.
  • Must be able to work with and understand basic financial costing information and data and possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess intermediate level computer skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Above average organizational skills and the ability to prioritize departmental functions in order to meet due dates and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of effective manufacturing environment safety and training programs.

 

Desired Experience Requirements:

  • Recycling plant experience.
  • Operating industrial equipment.
  • Experience with balers and conveyors.
  • Safety/OSHA regulations.
  • Review production costs and product quality and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
  • Monitors all expenditures to be cost effective and recommend budgets to management.
  • Maintain a plant that meets federal, state, local and corporate safety policies, procedures and programs.
  • Manage all MRF associated performance and personnel information such as safety compliance, cost effective throughput and quality performance attendance recording, daily reporting, suggested annual budgets, monthly projections.
  • Create a positive team oriented environment through employee development and engagement.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Assure adequate equipment is available to cover proper material flow.
