12 months + Contract

Networking Engineer (IP) position to support existing IP solutions responsible for engineering and enhancing existing IP core network. Desired skills to include Cisco or like certification in IP Services. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

Detailed understanding of end-end wireless data networks, services flow and the protocols between network subsystems. Detailed knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following subsystems: RAN, Packet Switched Network, Messaging Network, or IMS Network. Strong knowledge and experience with IP.

  • The day to day tasks are to work through change tickets for the west and central regions. 

  • Design templates and configurations are written by another department to deploy to sites and then retro-fit changes.

  • The day-to-day is put IP's from 1 spreadsheet into another spreadsheet, and then pass that ticket to review, then second review, and then to operations for implementation.



 





 
Requirements
  • Candidate should be familiar with routing protocols, firewall services, and Juniper equipment and have understanding of designing, building, and implementing carrier class networks as it relates to IP services. Candidate should have a full working knowledge of IP network technology and WAN transmission types in general.
  • Candidate should have experience with Cisco and Juniper equipment.\

Responsibilities:
·         Need to have an IP networking perspective
·         Must do IP engineering and allocation
·         Support during the migration phase

 

Experience:

·         Layer 3 VPN

·         IP networking from a service provider

·         Cisco IOS / Juniper

·         MPLS

·         Hands on troubleshooting

·         Allocation of ports & IP

·         Maintenance and troubleshooting
