Description
SOFTWARE TEST TECHNICIAN
Software Test Technician uses control specifications, specialized software applications, issue tracking software and test equipment to find, report and track deficiencies in electronic controls software and electronic control specifications. Develops and performs software test plans for the software pre-validation testing. Uses manual methods and writes software test scripts for automated testing systems. Interacts directly with project design teams.
Submits Test Reports and participates in Test Plan reviews.
Brief Overview:
The Software Test Technician will aid software development on a fast paced project. They will advise and counsel software and specification engineers to quickly flush out software issues and inconsistencies with specifications and software. The individual will need to be able to perceive small changes and details and communicate these back to the software development team.
In this position, you'll have the opportunity to:
-Provide technical assistance to the software development team.
-Interact as a valuable team player of the washer development team.
-Run test plans to check out all aspects of the washer control functionality.
-Run test plans around motor and speed control.
-Document findings, record data, and report back to the software development team.
-Use appropriate tools to load software into multiple controls.
-Interact with other laboratories to keep software up to date on controls in various tests.
-Make hardware updates to machines as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
-1-5 years experience as a software test or validation technician.
- Associates in Electronics Technology or equivalent, preferred.
-Computer skills in Microsoft Word- Power Point- Excel, IBM Lotus Notes.
-Detail-oriented and organizational skills.
-Ability to read and understand highly technical wiring diagrams and line charts.
-Complete knowledge of hand tools and specialty tools used in appliance repair.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
