Founded in 1979, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is the nation’s leading nonprofit school exclusively dedicated to psychology and its applications. A cornerstone of The Chicago School mission is its commitment to serving and embracing diverse and underserved communities. In that spirit, The Chicago School is planning to open a campus in Washington DC and is in the process of seeking the necessary approvals to do so. The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Washington DC will be home to the following departments: Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.), Clinical Counseling (M.A.), and Forensic Psychology (M.A.).

 

With the expected addition of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology at Washington DC, we are seeking highly qualified candidates for the following positions:

 

Dean of Administration: The Dean of Administration is responsible for the overall performance and operations of the Financial Aid, Information Technology, Student Services and Admissions Departments.  The Dean of Administration will assist the Campus President’s efforts at planning, human resource development, provisions of resources, alliance building, accreditation and compliance, institutional planning and research, and productivity measurement and improvement.  The Dean of Administration is expected to be a strong communicator and leader on campus, within the school and in the community.  At least 3-5 years of senior-level management experience at an institution of higher learning is required.  A doctorate degree is required.

 

Campus IT Director: The Campus IT Director is a member of the IT management team that reports to the Vice President of IT and the Dean of Administration. The Campus IT Director is responsible for all computer hardware, software, and other technological support systems at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Washington DC.  The Director must coordinate with other members of The Chicago School’s IT team to provide quality service to school students and faculty.  At least 2 years managing a mid-sized data and voice network. At least 2 years experience working on help desks that support mid-sized, multi-site organizations and at least 2 years experience in a Director-level position that included responsibility for customer service and network operations along with significant IT administration, budgeting, planning, and staff leadership responsibility.  A master’s degree in Computer Science is preferred.

 

Help Desk Specialist:  The Help Desk Specialist will be responsible for supporting the school's voice/data/video systems, aiding in the future development and enhancements and maintain the call management/tracking systems and operating procedures.  At least 3 years of progressive experience in a computer-related field.  A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred.

 

Department Chair: The Department Chair is responsible for making recommendations to the Campus President for recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and promotion of faculty, as well as department development. The Chair is responsible for providing visionary leadership for the academic direction of the department.  Duties include curriculum quality and development, scheduling, preparation for programmatic accreditation, assessment of student learning and program improvement, supervision of Faculty and other department administrators. A doctoral degree in the relevant discipline with appropriate license or license eligible is required. Teaching and academic administration at the graduate level as well as professional experience is required.  Preference will be given to candidates who have published basic or applied research in peer-reviewed journals or publications.

 

Faculty: Faculty positions at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Washington DC are available in the programs listed above. Faculty members will be responsible for teaching, student advisement, research and professional service to the School and community over the course of the three semester academic year.  In most cases, a doctorate degree with appropriate professional experience and licensure, if appropriate, is required.

 

Director of Admission: The Director of Admission is responsible for the successful execution of recruiting a diverse and highly qualified student population. He/she will also assist in developing yearly admission strategic plan and yearly admission budget. A Master’s degree, 3-5 years of graduate admission experience and a valid driver’s license are required. Knowledge of technology tools to enhance recruitment, admissions and enrollment in graduate admissions is preferred. Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends is also required. 

 

Admission Counselor: (Multiple positions available) The Admission Counselor will promote The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Washington DC to prospective students and provide information on school resources and service to all students. Two years of admission experience, bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license, personal car, and ability to travel up to 6 weeks per year, and work evenings and weekends are required. 

 

Student Services Advisor: The Student Services Advisor is responsible for providing guidance, assistance and programming typical of student services, for incoming and current graduate students. One to two years of prior experience in Student Services, Student Activities, or Academic Records at the graduate level and a Master’s degree are preferred.
