Description
  • Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly work and alignment on diversified sub-assemblies, including troubleshooting and rework
  • Strong communication skills with engineers and other Departments
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Participates in maintaining and improving process and output
  • Able to effectively multi-task and handle a wide variety of tasks
    • Use of small hand tools to strip, bend, fasten and connect parts, tasks require a high level of skill with a variety of hand tools and precision measuring equipment
    • Use of power meters, light source, calibration tools
    • Perform optical-mechanical alignment, correct alignment of optics components
    • Perform complex electro-mechanical assembly work, including troubleshooting and rework
    • Must understand the functional operation of the items assembled as well as the finished product
    • Must be able to work from complex and detailed manufacturing documentation and follow both written and verbal instructions
    • Test systems at various steps in the manufacturing process to meet product specifications
    • Updates production records and test results, communicates clearly with engineers to identify non-conformances
    • Technicians are responsible for some quality activities, including inspection
    • Participate in maintaining and improving process and output

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in electro-optical assembly environment
  • 2 years of college or a technician certificate or equivalent experience required
  • Ability to calibrate optical equipment, do precision mechanical alignment
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and written and to read and understand manufacturing process instructions
  • Knowledge of hand tools, hardware and component identification
  • Computer literate, able to enter data and produce reports
