Registered Nurse - Director of ER (RN)
Location: Four hours north of Austin, TX (Relocation required)
We are currently looking for a Director of ER/ED Registered Nurses (RN) in Texas for a permanent positions. If you are an experienced nurse looking for an exciting opportunity and an excellent compensation package this is an opportunity you should strongly consider!
Duties for Director of ER/ED Registered Nurses (RN):
Unit Director generally reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is responsible for directing and coordinating the Emergency Department in a manner reflective of the Hospital's philosophy and objective for maintaining required supplies and staffing, and for acting as liaison between the Hospital Administration and the staff. Serves as the Nurse Administrator on-call ( as necessary) to provide leadership and management to personnel during the off hours.
- Two years supervisory experience required
- Five years supervisory experience preferred
- Three years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment required
- Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given
- Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communications
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public
Requirements
Requirements for Director of ER/ED Registered Nurses (RN):
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), associate degree in nursing (ADN), or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
Licenses / Certifications:
- Registered Nurse License: Current license in good standing, Texas license or Compact Nursing License.
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- PALS certification preferred
Strong problem solving and decision making skills, Strong departmental team player, Good written and verbal communication skills, Strong interpersonal skills at an individual and team level, Ability to be flexible, adjust quickly and react positively to change.
Considerable knowledge of principles, practices and current trends in nursing, Positive attitude and good work ethics.
