Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee the operations of the Code Enforcement Division under the supervision of the Planning and Growth Management Department Director. The Code Enforcement Manager supervises code enforcement officers, presents cases to the Code Enforcement Board, solves complex code enforcement issues, assists in the development of the annual budget, presents code amendments to City Council as necessary, and development and implements policies and procedures of the Code Enforcement Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Criminal Justice or closely related field and at least five (5) years experience in the enforcement of codes, laws, and regulations, and preferably two (2) years experience working in a supervisory capacity. Must be certified in F.A.C.E Level I and II, or obtain these certifications within one year of the start date of employment.
PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate verbally in person and on the telephone. Skill in the use of standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Software and use levels, measuring gauges, hand tools, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. This is mostly sedentary work.
