Posting Summary
The individual who fills this role will have demonstrated expertise in implementing statistical/econometric modeling and methodologies and in Stata, Excel, Access, Matrix language programs, and other statistical software packages. The individual will work directly with economists and epidemiologists in tailoring econometric and statistical models and methodologies to specific research needs. Duties will include: written communication; development and management of research data archives and data libraries; extraction and formatting of complex social science and economics databases for research applications; liaison activities related to research database acquisition or development, and statistical programming using the STATA software program. Skills & experience: demonstrated programming expertise and experience in STATA, EXCEL, ACCESS and statistical programming. Good written and verbal communication skills
Job Responsibilities
The individual will work directly with economists and epidemiologists in tailoring econometric and statistical models and methodologies to specific research needs. Duties will include: written communication; development and management of research data archives and data libraries; extraction and formatting of complex social science and economics databases for research applications; liaison activities related to research database acquisition or development, and statistical programming using the STATA software program.
The individual will work directly with economists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and other social scientists and with staff working on manuscript preparation. S/he will also interact with individuals at NIH, other Federal and State agencies, and with private sales reps during data procurement.

Requirements
Qualifications
Masters in applied economics preferred, but other education/experience with strong statistics and programming will be considered. Bachelors plus at least 3 years experience may substitute for masters.
Demonstrated programming expertise and experience in STATA, EXCEL, ACCESS and other statistical programming languages.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and produce deliverables on time.
