Position Overview The Operations Supervisor supervises the activities of the check processing staff to ensure that services are delivered reliably, professionally, and that services meet the quality expectations of our customers in accordance with and in support of department and division objectives. This position is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Position Responsibilities Operations Supervises activities of the work unit. Establishes goals for the unit in accordance with and in support of bank, division and department objectives; maintains follow-up for assigned functional areas; determines and establishes work priorities and schedules; monitors unit's performance to ensure that customer service level commitments are achieved. Tracks and reports performance to management. Ensures and verifies all daily critical functions and processes are completed and are balanced. Performs duties of direct reports in the event staffing levels are insufficient to meet production deadlines as needed. These functions would include keying of missing customer information, complex balancing / reconcilement functions of all out of balance customer transactions in accordance with operating procedures using various applications and computer equipment. Personnel Management Supervises direct reports. Develops annual performance goals; prepares performance appraisals; counsel and disciplines staff as necessary, promotes and fosters an environment that supports continuous and ongoing training; reviews timesheets; interviews new personnel and recommends hiring and terminations; prepares progress reviews and recommends salary changes, ensures compliance to Code of Ethics and all other policies of the bank, division and department. Oversees operational expenses of work units: prepares work schedules to ensure completion of production jobs to timeliness identified in service level agreements while minimizing overtime, employee relations and other operating expenses. Internal Communication Communicates and work with other shift/cost center supervisors, internal and external customers, technical support staff and service representatives to ensure uninterrupted work flow.
The qualified applicant for the Operations Supervisor position meets the following basic qualifications: 2 years of college or equivalent work experience 5 years work experience in a financial institution or equivalent in a related position of progressive responsibility Demonstrated supervisory or team lead experience Experience using Metavante Vision IP preferred Demonstrated skills in planning, leading, directing, coaching, counseling, conflict management, team building and problem solving Demonstrated ability in identifying and troubleshooting systematic issues Strong organization skills and leadership ability Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service Ability to communicate professionally in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing Excellent interpersonal skills Possesses excellent administrative and organization competence Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to changing and flexible work environments and conditions Ability to work flexible hours and shift work
