Description
Working under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, with input from an Advisory Council, the Director of the Institute for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (ISTEM) is charged with working with the College of Southern Maryland ISTEM faculty/staff and the greater community to improve, coordinate, and promote the development of ISTEM-related educational programs.
The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Flexibility is required.

Requirements
- Bachelors’ degree required (Masters degree preferred) in a STEM discipline.
- Five years experience working in a STEM environment
- Understanding of STEM-related workforce development issues
- Conversant on how STEM topics are being deployed in K-16 environments
- Knowledge of the STEM environment in Southern Maryland preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers and community organizations
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with little supervision
- Ability to develop and manage budgets
- Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate needs
