EMS Accounting Lead - Natural Gas

Our client is seeking a senior professional to manage the accounting requirements for Energy Management Service agreements focused on Natural Gas Park and Loan activity.  This is a new role to an expanding gas team and represents an excellent opportunity to participate in establishing the necessary business processes and reporting tools for Energy Management Service agreements.

Position Responsibilities:

• Preparing all of the necessary Gross Margin and Financial Reporting Statements, Journal Entries and Closing reports for all activity associated with the Energy Management Service agreement
• Performing all transaction validation, reconciliation and settlement for natural gas transactions associated with this agreement
• Reconciling all volumetric storage data
• Generating all 3^rd party invoices
• Preparing wire notices or other pay advices as required
• Working with teams across disparate locations to ensure the successful development of this role and its processes
• Interacting with Traders, Schedulers and Clients to resolve discrepancies

• 4 or more years of Gas Settlements and Reporting experience
• A solid understanding of Natural Gas Settlements and Accounting including Storage
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work well independently and strong multi-tasking skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a similar discipline
• MS Excel required and experience with Access a plus
• Ability to travel to corporate locations as needed to achieve results
