Hospital Pharmacy Technicians MUST have experience with:
  • selecting and preparing medications; including oral, topical and bulk medications
  • accurately calculating and preparing IV admixtures; including piggybacks, TPNs, pain management, hydrations and chemotherapy
  • maintaining proper supplies and equipment for daily IV preparation
  • preparing all admixtures under proper aseptic techniques
  • filling, exchanging and crediting unit-dose carts
  • stocking shelves/ordering inventory as needed
  • compounding large volume IV admixtures
  • entering data 
Requirements Qualified Hospital Pharmacy Technicians MUST have:
  • Pyxis and automation experience
  • active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license
  • minimum 1 year Pharmacy Tech experience in a hospital, home infusion, mail order or long term care setting
  • flexibility to work overnights and some weekends
