Description

Johnson College is seeking a part time Network/Desktop Support Technician to supplement our existing IT department.  This person will assist with a wide variety of tasks including desktop support, troubleshooting, hardware, software, printer, virus and network problems, video equipment set-up, computer lab maintenance and equipment installation and upgrades.  This position will be approximately twenty hours per week from M-F during normal working hours. On occasion, the person should be available for weekend or evening assignments.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has all or most of the following:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.  (An Associate's Degree in a relevant field with additional experience will be considered.)
  • 3+ years varied IT experience with an emphasis on network administration and desktop support, equipment troubleshooting, etc.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 2003 and 2007 and Outlook.
  • Shoretel VOIP system experience is highly desirable but other VOIP experience will be considered.
  • The ability to work a consistent 20 hour schedule during regular business hours from Monday through Friday.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in an academic environment is a plus but not required.
