Description



Capitol National Bank, located in Lansing, Michigan, is currently looking to fill the postion of Credit Analyst. This positon will have the responsibility for providing credit analysis for the lending activities of the Bank. The qualified candidate will provide analytical services in the administration of loan accounts. When needed, and in conjunction with underwriters/loan officer(s) and management, will communicate with current and potential customers to obtain information needed for loan requests.

 

  • Analyzes, gathers, and prepares financial statements and complete loan files for underwriter. Provides input to underwriters/lenders and management while administering loan accounts assigned for loan structuring.
  • Analyzes the credit and collateral aspects of business and individual loans both secured and unsecured.
  • Monitor loans to ensure proper documentation with respect to items such as periodic calculation of ratios to determine financial covenants.
  • Assists with preparation for annual account reviews and ticklers.
  • May perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

    • OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

  • May be assigned various projects involving research on lending programs, review of outstanding loans or exploration of lending alternatives for prospective customers.
  • The bank reserves the right to change or modify the employee’s job description whether orally or in writing, at any time during the employment relationship. Additionally, the Bank, through its supervisors, may require an employee to perform duties outside their normal description within the sole discretion of the supervisor. Employee must comply with all applicable bank policies and procedures, and banking laws and regulations.
    • Requirements
     
  • Possess the analytical skill to assess and evaluate areas of responsibility including determination of loan risk involved and recommendation of credit limitations.
  • Thorough understanding of financial data such as cash flow, balance sheet and collateral dynamics of customers’ properties and geographic area.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with all levels of Bank personnel and outside business contacts.
  • Experience with Excel, Microsoft Word and spreadsheet software. Good written and verbal skills.
  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting, and/or commensurate work experience is required.
  • One to three years previous lending experiences is preferred with a diversified background in lending. Knowledge of documentation, appraisal analysis, etc is preferred and normally acquired through specialized education or experience.
