Description This is an excellent and exciting alternative to typical Retail Pharmacy ! Avita Drugs provides a unique, professional and controlled practice environment. This is a vibrant, growing Company, providing Specialized Pharmacy services to patients with chronic illnesses. Unlike typical retail Pharmacy, normal Operating Hours are M-F, 8:30 am to 6:30 pm and dress code is casual and comfortable. Avita Drugs is hiring a fulltime and parttime Technician to join our professional team at our Baton Rouge and New Orleans locations. The successful candidates will provide expert services to chronically ill patients in a professional environment, in a manner which maximizes quality, accuracy and patient safety, with the use of state of the art prescription dispensing automation and technology. Technician participates in the processing of prescriptions in accordance with Federal and State regulations and Avita Drugs policy.
Requirements

Essential Functions:

 

Process prescriptions for dispensing, assessing patient needs, triage inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and care-givers, and to resolve issues with insurance companies (rejected claims, claims reconciliation, patient benefits)

 

* Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

 

* Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

 

* Prepares medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders/prescriptions; calculating quantities; preparing labels; inputting prescription orders in computer system, handling issues with patient benefits and rejected claims.

 

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

 

Organization, Integrity, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Flexibility in Schedule, Quick Learner, and can Work Autonomously in a fast paced Specialty Pharmacy. Benefits are: Monday - Friday, 8am - 7pm, (weekends are rare), 401K, Medical Benefits, Life Insurance, Paid Company Holidays, ability to work overtime a limited basis.
