Civil/Municipal Project Manager

Description of Civil/Municipal Project Manager:

Manage and coordinate efforts of technicians, EITs and PEs to handle design and production of plans, specifications and cost estimates for general civil type projects, including municipal paving, drainage, and utility design and site design support for industrial and architectural projects.

Manage project budgets and schedules, invoice projects.

Build relationships with existing Clients and market new municipalities and agencies. Make presentations at public meetings, City Council meetings, conferences.

• Plans, directs and monitors all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium sized projects with high degree of technical complexity. Is involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently.
• Establishes client relations and is involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
• Conducts schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines.
• Is responsible to coordinate the staffing and workload of the staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
• Works with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and the Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
• Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures. Responsible for execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans.
• Typically supervises large project staffs and acts as mentor for less experienced Project Managers.
• Typically requires 10+ years of project management experience and a degree in Engineering.
• Maintains professional engineering registration.

Requirements of Civil/Municipal Project Manager:

• BSCE
• PE
• A 10+ years municipal engineering design experience. 5+ at the PM level.
• Proven leadership, mentoring and client liaison skills
• Known entity in the Eastern Iowa market
• strongly preferred.
