Description

This position is located in our office in Philadelphia, PA. 



Oversee and coordinate specialized functions and data processes in support of designated University operations for the Marketing Department.  This person is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of the institution's marketing related applications.  The position requires a strong technical background and good interpersonal communication skills.  The individual must be a detail-oriented person who is able to work independently and as part of a team, and who is open to acquiring knowledge and new skills to provide systems, data and tools to equip the users of the university's administrative system.  This person must possess the skills to work with others across long distances via phone, email, etc.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  

  • The ideal candidate has a good mix of programming and business analyst skills
  • Develop useful and meaningful reports for the Marketing department involving multiple databases/platforms (ex. Google, Oracle db and MS SQL db); prepare reports, which may be confidential in nature, using applications, languages or platforms such as ASP.net, Microsoft Access, Iron Speed or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Meet with business users to gather requirements and then develop reports or solutions based off of those requirements
  • Integrate disparate systems in order to develop useful and meaningful reports for the Marketing department
  • Document Marketing processes and develop ASP.net applications to automate those processes where possible
  • Oversee and coordinate specialized functions and data processes in support of designated University operations for the Marketing Department; use judgment in prioritization of work tasks and in application of methods and processing functions; review operational processes to enhance data and system accuracy, integrity and security; make recommendations to minimize liability, improve efficiency and ensure consistency and compliance with University processes and procedures
  • Provide guidance and advice and serve as resource to and liaison with the Marketing department; interpret and communicate information related to complex processes, procedures, regulatory guidelines and statutes; may provide informal training and informational sessions
  • May provide support to University staff as needed

Requirements
 

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor degree in MIS or related field perfered.
  • 3-5 years experience in higher education administrative software management.
  • Working knowledge of SQL base systems including T-SQL and stored procedures
  • 2-4 years developing ASP.net applications with an emphasis on experience integrating different   database systems and workflow automation.
  • Prior experience with computerized report writing applications such Crystal Reports and RDBMS extraction tools such as InfoMaker, MS Access or Query Analyzer.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft SQL, Visual Basic/VB.net, ASP.net, tools/languages
  • Experience with Iron Speed is a plus
  • Experience with Google Analytics and AdSense is a BIG plus.  But it needs to be emphasized that this is systems developer position.
  • Experience with Talisma, Siebel and/or Intelli works is a plus.
  • Experience with student information systems like Jenzabar is a plus
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse user population.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position requires up to 25% travel.
  • Candidate must also demonstrate that they have curiosity and a desire to learn new things, are self-driven, is dedicated to documenting all of their work and is not afraid to think creatively.
