Description

This job services Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union Counties.Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) services provide one on one intervention to a child or adolescent at home, school, day care, YMCA, emergency room, other community-based program, or community setting when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment of educational setting. Specific techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcement, emotional support, team structuring activities, time-out strategies, passive restraints and additional psychosocial rehabilitative activities as prescribed in the treatment plan.

TSS are responsible for specific interventions to stabilize the child or adolescents, lending support for family efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent and to promote age-appropriateness behavior, by working with the child or adolescent to promote age appropriate behavior. The TSS works with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home or other community settings and participation in Inter-Agency Service Planning, when requested by one's supervisor.

Requirements Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, criminal justice, or similar human service field, with no previous work experience;

Bachelor's Degree in any other field, with the equivalent of at least one year of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents;

Associates' Degree or sixty credits toward a Bachelor's Degree, with the equivalent of at least three years of full-time paid work experience in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents.
