Description SCOPE OF POSITION:

Design of printed circuit boards in mixed technology applications including placement, routing, analysis and review.



SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design of PCBs to customer supplied requirement specs.
  • Review of customer PCB designs to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Perform peer reviews on work completed by PCB design colleagues.
  • Participate in customer design reviews and provide guidance/feedback on PCB design.
  • Implement and maintain PCB standards and design guidelines in line with technology developments.

  • Review and update standard operating procedures for the PCB design function.

  • Maintain PCB design tools.

Requirements

Associate degree or higher in electronic engineering desirable but not essential.



Experience in using Dx Designer and Mentor Expedition

Understanding of EMC issues in PCB design

Understanding of signal integrity issues in PCB design

Knowledge of medical and aerospace market requirements

Understanding of PCB DFM & DFT analysis

Experience in a customer facing role

Experience of designing PCBs for RF or Microwave applications (Highly desirable)

Backplane design experience (Desirable)

Experience of using automated DFM & DFT tools (Desirable)
