PHARMACY DIRECTOR (Pharmacist)

Lancaster Community Hospital (LCH), a full service Community Hospital located just 60 miles outside of Los Angeles, California is presently seeking candidates for a Director of Pharmacy Services position.

This is an ideal time to be a part of this growing institution. As Lancaster Community Hospital, in association with its parent company Universal Health Services is projected to open a new facility. Named Palmdale Regional Medical Center, it is located in Palmdale, California, which is 10 miles south of Lancaster.  An adjacent medical office building is also under construction. This new facility (scheduled to open in February of 2010) will be a modern state of the art full service hospital offering services in Advanced Cardiac Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics, OB-GYN, Emergency Room Services and General Medicine. They will also strive to achieve Accreditation as a Primary Stroke Center and a Certified Chest Pain Center.

Sierra Staffing has been a leader for over 16 years in the area of Health System Pharmacist Recruitment. We have been retained by LCH to identify and evaluate candidates for the Director of Pharmacy position. Initially, the Director of Pharmacy will supervise a staff of approximately 20 FTE’s. With the new facility and expansion of services, additional beds will be added and approvals are already in place for at least 5 FTE’s including two night shift pharmacists and a Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator. The Director of Pharmacy will immediately become involved in the Decentralization of Pharmacy Services and the expansion of Clinical Pharmacy Programs. He/She will also explore the option of adding an Outpatient Pharmacy in the new facility.  At present, the facility utilizes The Siemens Computer System.

Contrary to what you may expect, the residents of Palmdale enjoy a very moderate cost of living. Housing costs in the area are extremely reasonable and equivalent to what you might find in Dallas, Texas or Charlotte, North Carolina. Cost of Fuel, Food, essentials similar to what you will find in many areas of the country. Sign-on Bonus, Relocation Assistance and moving expenses will be included in the compensation package.
