Description Technical Manager

Directs and coordinates, through reporting team mates, activities of workers engaged in daily production and continuous improvement of injection and blowmolded processes.  Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.  Oversees existing machine processes to ensure continuous production.  Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with management.  Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies required for operations.  May initiate or authorize employee hire, promotion, discharge or transfer.  Directs training needs and ensures technical team members are functioning with the required level of competency.
Requirements

Manages and leads molding technical team.

Responsible for molding related continuous improvement, i.e., cycle times, scrap, quality, material cost reduction, regrind implementation, etc.

Participates in the creation of the operational plan and will have specific areas of accountability in its execution.

Responsible for accessing effectiveness of technical abilities, team working skills, leadership potential while providing career guidance.

Reviews, mentors and establishes contingencies/justifications for CAR's, capital budget expenditures, personnel/salary plans.

Provides input for business operating system changes while maintaining an active involvement in the auditing process.

Models an appropriate leadership behavior.

Can effectively develop personnel in technical execution, planning and decision making which can inpact the business financials.

 

Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Processing or Mechanical Engineering is requires.  Ten to fifteen years experience in injection and/or blowmolding processing is required.  Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is preferred.
