Summary of Outside Sales Representative / Account Manager

PCE Pacific, Inc. is a leading Northwest process control company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative / Account Manager in Anchorage, AK to cover the state of Alaska. This position is responsible for selling Instrumentation, Flow Computer & associated products & services to existing & potential customers.

Responsibilities Outside Sales Representative / Account Manager

Responsible for achieving sales goals based on increased revenue/gross margin and develop ongoing relationships with accounts to identify opportunities to sell solutions. Activities are performed at customer field offices, process plants, and well sites. Other responsibilities include account strategic planning, project pursuit & monthly key activities reporting.

Facilitate the sales and startup of Emerson Instrumentation and Flow Computers.

Engage in Consulting & Sales

  • Provides technical consultation and recommendations to customer management and/or engineers regarding Automation System applications, selection, and configuration based on the customer’s specific operation.
  • Cross-sell other PCE products and services when possible, referring sales leads to appropriate PCE Personnel.
  • Provide general systems support, guidance, and technical assistance to customer’s engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel as needed. May also conduct formal training sessions from time to time.

Miscellaneous

  • Comply with OSHA and customer safety standards and policies.
  • Prepare sales call reports to document efforts.
  • May require callout, weekend or working irregular or extended hours and overnight travel to complete projects

Requirements for Outside Sales Representative / Account Manager

  • 2-year Instrument Technician degree and/or ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) status preferred. 2-year Associate of Science degree acceptable and/or equivalent work experience to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job.
  • Recent sales experience with Industrial Automation, Instrumentation.
  • Recent experience with Automation System and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) configuration, field instrumentation installation and troubleshooting, as well as process control experience. Experience with Emerson Process Management and Fisher Rosemount products a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical theory — use of Ohm's Law, relationships between resistance, voltage, current, power and voltage drop; NEC and API Codes as they pertain to SCADA Automation installations, ISA standards, electrical, automation and instrument systems, various test and calibration procedures, PLC operation, RTUs, EFM devices, relay logic, PID loops, transducers, switches, transmitters, installation and configuration of radio equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and logic descriptions.
  • Knowledge of personal computer (PC) hardware, software and application programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, & sales skills to communicate effectively with management, engineering, & maintenance personnel.
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with general directions.
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or be on call if needed.
  • Valid Driver's License and own vehicle.
  • The position requires frequent travel within the region.
  • Requires working both in a team-oriented environment and alone and with minimal supervision. Works indoors and outdoors, frequent standing, driving and getting in to and out of 4-wheel drive vehicles, works around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing and reaching. Works in temperature extremes to the extent of weather conditions and operating equipment and around moisture; on slippery and uneven surfaces; in confined spaces; and at heights. Requires exposure to noise, vibrations, well-treating chemicals, glycol, methanol, gasoline, natural gas, and liquid hydrocarbons.
