Description

Large financial institution and mortgage provider in Richmond, VA is looking for experienced Mortgage QA Auditors/professionals to join their team on a contract basis! Seven to ten years of mortgage experience needed. Recent underwriting experience and mortgage operations experience highly desired. Qualified candidates encouraged to apply! Great team-oriented environment, flexible working hours, etc. No relocation experiences covered, although non-local candidates are welcome.

 
The Quality Assurance Auditor will be responsible for ongoing review of all mortgage loans originated, processed, and closed. The review will be to ensure procedural and regulatory compliance are adhered – specific to Reg B, Reg Z, Reg C, FCRA, HPA, TILA, and RESPA. Minimum of 3 years experience in the mortgage lending industry is mandatory in a similar role. Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines and provide input and recommendation is key to this role.
Requirements Underwrites mortgage loan applications, and evaluates loans in order to maximize organizational profit and minimize risk or loss. Accurately analyze new loans and review conditions received based upon the criteria required for the submitted product type, while meeting established productivity and turn around time goals. Responsible for ensuring sale-ability of each closed loan, balancing risk management responsibilities with creative judgment to maximize lending opportunities. Proven expertise underwriting preferably in a wholesale lending environment; demonstrated commitment to closoing loans (funding the right way); strong customer service skills; extensive knowledge of mortgage products; strong verbal and exceptional written communication skills; highly self-motivated as well as ability to work well in a team environment; excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills; basic computer knowledge. Prefer minimum 2 years college. May require bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 2 to 5 years of experience in field or in a related area, familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals applied to a broad range of decisions. Performs a variety of tasks; works under general supervision. A certain level of creativity and latitude is required.
