PLANT MANAGER
Responsibilities
Responsible for all internal activities effecting production including meeting objectives and maintaining established safety, environmental, quality, cleanliness, productivity and efficiency standards. Plant revenue size $10 to $50 M with 50 to 100 employees.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and a minimum of five years of high level operating experience. Engineering Degree a real plus Comprehensive knowledge of management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating and directing. General knowledge of verbal and written communications for maintaining effective working relationships. High concern for detail and accuracy. Possesses interpersonal skills in order to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally. Possesses the ability to use various personal computers including spreadsheet, word processing, database and graphics software. Must be able to prepare and manage annual budgets to plan. Possesses the ability to analyze problems and make independent judgment to initiate corrective action or resolution. The ability to work with and maintain information of a confidential nature. A strong knowledge / background in Lean Manufacturing is highly preferred. SAP experience preferred.
JOB DUTIES
Provides for safety of all employees including implementing established safety requirements; initiating preventative and corrective actions and ensuring employee training. Directs the quality control, production performance, maintenance, environmental and plant administrative functions. Ensures accurate counting and recording, including electronic reporting, to reflect production, hours, raw material usage and scrap. Monitors and reports on production results. Initiates and implements improvement measures as needed Oversees the continual development and updating of the manufacturing operating procedures manuals and the establishment of good manufacturing practices. Oversees and coordinates inspection of finished goods and incoming raw materials. Facilitates decision making regarding material status. ( Oversees and coordinates quality inspection system including inspection database, specifications, standards, and procedures. Works with vendors of raw materials to ensure materials meet production requirements. ) Oversees and supports vendor evaluation database for CPC. Provides data for evaluations Documents and supports Quality Management System (QMS) for assigned facility Oversees, facilitates, and reformulates chemical composition mixture as necessary to adapt to changing requirements. Facilitates supervisory training, monitors attendance and addresses disciplinary issues. Responsible for identifying and executing cost reduction projects and initiatives. Understand basic financial principals, cause and effects and be able to take actions to improve financial performance of the facility. Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of responsibilities and, where applicable, selection and development of employees, salary administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning and organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property.
