Job Summary

Provide assistance to the Global Demand Planner in the area of inventory control. The Inventory Analyst works within the Demand Planning Department and reports to the Demand Planning Manager.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Work with the Global Demand Planner to track and control inventory levels on a company aggregate and individual branch level and identify, suggest and assist in the implementation of creative and alternative inventory management techniques to continually reduce the required inventory levels.
  • Comprehensively analyze inventory transactions to identify problems, recommend solutions, and drive implementation of improved policies, tools, and practices.
  • Analyze inventory on hand and consumption patterns to identify excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Work with the Global Demand Planner to analyze and manage min/max planned material stocking levels, warehouse cycle count program and Excess and Obsolete Material disposition processes.
  • Assist with the development and management of forecasting methodologies for residential and commercial integration and distribution that can be used to drive the material planning and positioning activities
  • Assist with resolution of inventory discrepancies daily.
  • Provide analysis and drive resolution to inventory costing issues.
  • Other inventory, planning, procurement and logistics related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements Basic Qualifications Detailed problem solving orientation 3+ years of inventory analysis experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment 3+ years in an ERP-based demand planning environment Good verbal and written communications skills Familiarity with complex analytical techniques and tools Advanced Excel skills Excellent report generation skills Ability to maintain focus, good humor and balance while working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an Oracle ERP environment Experience working in a FIFO costing environment APICS certification SQL and/or Microsoft Access experience Essential Mental Functions Incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate to external and internal professional individuals and organizations, multi-task, self-start, work with little supervision, research techniques and uphold confidentiality, and sustain a professional demeanor. Essential Physical Functions Physical - typing on a keyboard, data entry, understanding company operating systems Visual - reading and/or research on a computer screen Audio - inbound and outbound telephone calls, noise from the office environment Equipment Used Remote home office and/or personal office workstation; desk, computer, cell phone (if applicable) and/or telephone, file cabinets, fax and copy machine Additional Comments Incumbent must be a self-starter and work with little or no supervision. This position requires continual analytical research methods, precise calculations and the ability to think outside the box and be prepared for continual change.
