As a Commercial Auto Underwriter in our Madison, Wisconsin branch office, you will team with our agents to write a profitable, quality book of business which includes business auto, public auto, and for-hire truckers. This includes selecting, pricing and monitoring risks while maintaining quality business relationships. You will assure policy coverage in compliance with established underwriting guidelines.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Review submissions and offer quotation
Follow-up on outstanding new and renewal quotes
Set up insurance to technicians
Agent visits, state insurance conventions and company meetings
Review agent’s request for cancellation, endorsements or other correspondence
Submit risks to companies that require approval
Service existing accounts
Requirements
To be successful in this position you should possess:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related professional work experience
Minimum of three years experience in Commercial Auto lines underwriting
Excellent communication and computer skills
Above average negotiation, sales, and marketing skills
