Assistant Controller, Part-Time (20 hrs/wk)

Description A recognized leader in the field of developmental disabilities, St. John of God Community Services is a private school, early intervention and vocational rehabilitative center known for our staff of talented professionals. We are a division of an international non-profit, social service organization. Our suburban setting in Gloucester County, NJ is located 15 minutes from Center City Philadelphia.

This mid-level management position supports our mission through sound financial reporting and oversight of day-to-day activities. Reporting to our Financial Controller, this position offers a flexible schedule around our normal business hours (M-F, 8 AM-5 PM). Duties involve:
•    Overseeing financial systems for AR/AP, ADP payroll, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets and internal controls.  
•    Assisting Controller in developing new accounting systems, policies and procedures.  
•    Compiling data for fiscal reports, quarterly and year-end financial statements.
•    Coordinating with external auditors.
•    Participating in special projects.

Requirements •    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
•    7 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years spent in the non-profit sector and 2 years at a supervisory level required.
•    Knowledge of multi-corporate environments and operational budgets of $10K-$15K.
•    Accounting experience should come from direct employment with a non-profit organization.
•    NJ School Business Manager Certification is a plus.
•    CPA is preferred.
