Description
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Hazardous Waste Field Chemist at our facility in Tampa, Florida.
Selected candidate will supervise and conduct field operations including but not limited to lab pack and drum removal projects.
Requirements
Responsibilities include:
- Assure that field operations are conducted within the scope of all applicable regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Use of chemical knowledge and other applicable resources to properly segregate and package hazardous chemicals and hazardous wastes to minimize or eliminate potential hazards.
- Complete and maintain documentation required for field operations such as: hazardous waste manifests, land disposal restriction notification forms, chain of custody forms, bill of ladings, etc.
- Assist in coordinating and planning lab pack and bulk waste stream consolidations.
- Assist in completing bid specifications for lab packing projects.
- Related work as required.
Ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science or related field and completed courses in physical and organic chemistry.
Knowledge of chemistry and chemical properties, relating to hazardous waste management. Training in hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste management techniques or any equivalent training or experience.
Minimum of one year environmental field experience and candidate must have or be able to obtain CDL Class B license with Hazmat endorsement.
