Retail In-Store Assistant Branch Manager

We are seeking strong professionals with leadership expertise in lending, investments, other banking products and services to help lead our new retail location at the Meijer store in Lincoln Park, Michigan.  We need people with leadership skills, sales, service savvy and the ability to partner with the Retail Branch Manager to help support all retail branch activities.


Responsibilities
:

 

  • Responsible for all or part of the duties and responsibilities involved in scheduling and staffing, assignment of duties and priorities of completion in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by credit union and directly assigned to the branch manager.
  • Works directly with store customers to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in working with the leaders and staff of the store they operate in.
  • Makes recommendation for new, improved or expanded products and services based on feedback from store customers.
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and team members.
  • Reviews operations of other in store banking operations and plans and directs sales programs to address emerging needs and potential members.
  • Directs the preparation of branch reports and schedules required by Head Office or regulatory agencies.
  • Performs such other duties as may be delegated by the Branch Manager.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Responsible for aiding in developing joint promotional opportunities with the retailer.
  • Conducts promotions using various delivery channels in the store (In aisles, teams, etc) employing various systems (phone, email, coupons, etc.), as well as in the community and all branches.
  • Oversees the reporting and analysis of all transactions, goals and activities. 
  • Ensures that the branch image is favorable, reflecting a sound and secure financial institution that employs prudent housekeeping procedures, safety measures, and provides a pleasant atmosphere for members, including privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Must have an Associate’s degree or above in business or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ year’s leadership experience with a bank or credit union.
  • Thorough knowledge of the lending processes and experience with financial institution products and service.
  • Must have experience evaluating and making sound decisions on sales, service and other skill levels of team members.
  • Must be an exceptional conversationalist, demonstrating the ability to engage strangers in conversation about our services.
  • A track record of successfully coaching Team Members in sales skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and early evenings. (Please note – Team members are only expected to work two Saturdays per month, and no Sundays. When scheduled to work on Saturdays, in addition to having Sunday off team members will normally receive another day off during the weekday.)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to use multiple delivery platforms.
  • A record of creative and innovative problem identification and resolution.
  • Must adhere to the member service standards as set forth by the credit union.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task and be flexible.
  • Experience in a financial institution required.
