Facilities Assistant

St. Andrew’s House Episcopal Retreat and Conference Center on the Puget Sound in Union, Washington, seeks an 18-hour a week, live-on-site host and facilities assistant. Significant experience in hospitality and facilities maintenance very strongly preferred. 2-bedroom, 2-bath home included. Stipend $400-600 monthly based on experience. Possible spousal agreement or wage.

Responsibilities:

Assist in conference center hospitality, including being on-call, providing emergency phone coverage and security, and related tasks as needed, on evening and weekends.

Help manage female work crews from Mission Creek Corrections Center, including managing landscape upkeep and facilities maintenance.

Welcome and help orient guests and conduct tours.

Maintain 38-bed facility, extensive grounds and gardens, including addressing issues such as minor plumbing.

Required Qualifications:

Be able to walk steep 16% grade frequently, lift/carry 50 pounds or more, stand/walk up to 7 hours.

Possess a valid driver’s license, without significant driving restrictions. 

Experience effectively communicating with the public, one-on-one or in groups.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Significant hospitality experience.

Significant property management and facilities maintenance experience

Successful history of leadership/supervisory positions

Ability and desire to work in faith-based nonprofit.
