Description

Civista Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland is looking for PRN or Float Pool Speech Language Pathologists. Located in Southern Maryland, we are only 20 miles south of Washington, DC.

 

Speech Language Pathologist

 

 

 

 SUMMARY:   Under limited supervision, evaluates for, develops, and administers Speech Language Pathology treatment programs for referred patients.  Programs are designed to restore function, prevent disability following injury or disease, and assist patients in achieving maximum performance.  Patients served include child thru adult-geriatric.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:    To qualify for the position, the candidate must have a Masters. Degree with ASHA certification in Speech Language Pathology preferred one year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a hospital setting.  Competence in modified Barium swallow studies required.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents is required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:   Ability to communicate effectively , both written and verbal, with patients, physicians, other hospital personnel and the general public

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:   Ability to perform basic math functions.

 

REASONING ABILITY:   Ability to  identify problems, collect data, establish facts regarding the patient/family condition, and to prioritize the needs of the patient and family.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:  

1.  Current license or temporary license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Maryland.

2.  ASHA certification

3.  CPR (BLS) certification
