MTW 4:00 PM-11:00 PM Sunday 6:00AM-6:00PM

Thursday, Friday 4PM-11PM, Saturday 6AM-6PM


SUMMARY
The main purpose of this position is to assure continued management, communication, and
coordination of truck fleet using satellite and telephone networks during the off-hours.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of
the above-listed position.

  • Answer and process messages from 240-360 drivers through the Qualcomm
    satellite communication system. Monitor Assigned, Pre-Assigned, Committed, and
    Late load status.
  • Answer telephone calls from drivers regarding swaps/splits, resolve any
    dispatch/driver issues that arise, run criticals on individual boards to locate any
    problems/issues that need addressed by marketing/operations. Assist
    planner with analyzing and resolving problems within netops by utilizing standard
    procedures (i.e. assign freight, input splits, locate swaps).
  • Troubleshoot problems that drivers have such as: late loads, load assignment,
    routing, permits, lumpers, advances, finding empty trailers and overweight
    problems.
  • Perform various duties as needed, i.e., copying, calling customers for directions
    and late loads, retrieving directions from internet, etc.
  • Fill in for planner in times of absence. Perform other related duties as assigned by
    supervisory personnel.

  •  Knowledge of U.S. geography.
  • Skill in operating computer terminal and satellite communication networks.
  • Skill in operating various office equipment such as: copy machine, fax, and multi-line
    phone.
  • Skill in typing (35-40 wpm).
  • Ability to communicate patiently. Ability to communicate in a
    courteous, professional manner when dealing with customer inquiries and complaints.
