Position Summary 
The Pharmacist Floater oversees pharmacy personnel and pharmacy operations including, but not limited to, dispensing prescriptions and counseling customers.  The Pharmacist Floater must be flexible to work travel to numerous locations within a geographical area

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise all pharmacy personnel to ensure that the highest level of accuracy and customer service is being provided at all time.
  • Monitor the proper handling of company assets including cash/charges, supplies, drugs, and equipment.
  • Impose a superior standard of quality and service that is professionally acceptable to NeighborCare and the consumers that are served by NeighborCare.
  • Assist pharmacy manager with inventory control.
  • Assist in ensuring that the pharmacy is in compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.  Assist in ensuring that the pharmacy is in compliance with all DEA policies and procedures as set forth by NeighborCare or the regulatory agency, whichever is stricter.
  • Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy as they pertain to workflow, production quotas and deadlines.
  • Screen all new medication orders for appropriate dose, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications prior to dispensing the medication.
  • Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary by location.

 
Most of our pharmacies are closed in the evening and on weekends with limited weekend hours.

Requirements Education, Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree.
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing in state practicing.
  • Retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Proficient in the area of clinical interpretation; drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions and allergies.
  • Complete appropriate training and/or educational programs for approved continuing education credits according to board of pharmacy guidelines.
  • Must be attentive to needs of customers, visitors, and employees, taking time to understand the points of others, and asking questions as appropriate.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform accurately and efficiently when dispensing prescription medications.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be flexible to travel to numerous locations within a geographical area.

 

Schedule:  Typically 9am to 1pm/4pm Saturday and/or 8am/9am to 12pm

 

Shift:  Weekends

 

Hours:  4 to 8 hours per weekend
