Description
Title: Sr. Investment Analyst (#1686268)

- Review daily cash balancing and reconciliation of interface reports from Sub-ledger (Mortgage accounting system) to our corporate ledger (Peoplesoft)
- Review and ensure all transactions posted to Accounting system for accuracy including new acquisitions, refinances, capitalizations for construction loans and payoffs. Review wires and check requests for timely and accurate processing. Follow up on opens items with Front/Middle office.
- Coordinate with middle office, front office and accounting policy to analyze new and complex mortgage transactions in a timely manner. Keep abreast of all statutory guidance changes and ensure we are complying with all statutory policies and procedures.
- Monthly ensure all financial information processed in our accounting system and sent to General Ledger is accurate. Produced monthly analytical reports including variance analysis and account fluctuations. Resolve discrepancies and ensure ledger is closed by the 4th business day.
- Assist staff to resolve issues and train them on new workflows and procedures. Work with sub-unit manager to develop workflows and procedures for new investments being introduced. Complete staff appraisals, cross evaluations and development plans.
- Work with correspondent (GEMSA) and Front office analyst to identify and resolve issues and that proper documentation for all activity is received. Assist in answering various requests including both internal and external auditors
- Review and analyze all aged suspense, receivable and liability accounts by the 8th business day. Ensure balances are monitored and issues addressed timely.
- Review monthly reconciliation of all mortgages including principal balance and other critical data elements with our Correspondent, GEMSA. Ensure all discrepancies are resolved by working with Front/Middle office and correspondent.
- Organize and coordinate disaster recovery exercises and software upgrades for unit
- Update procedures and SOX documentation
- Review and ensure accurate and timely processing of foreign exchange gains and losses on holdings and transactions
Requirements
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or in Finance or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting) is required. An MBA and/or CPAQ is preferred
Experience:
5 to 7 years of work experience in a financial or investment accounting, reporting or operations position

. Advanced PC skills including knowledge of investment account systems and Microsoft
. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting and statutory accounting principles
