Industrial Fire Fighter

ThyssenKrupp Steel USA is seeking experienced Industrial Fire Fighters for our developing processing operations in Calvert, Alabama.

Our Fire Fighters will control and extinguish fires, protect life and property, and maintain equipment as an employee of ThyssenKrupp Steel USA.

Among the duties performed, our Fire Fighters will also:

• Drive and operate emergency response vehicles
• Select proper firefighting tools and equipment to control and extinguish fires
• Perform search and rescue operations
• Utilize appropriate safety equipment, to mitigate hazardous materials incidents
• Provide emergency medical care during emergencies
• Perform extrication operations as needed
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance
• Deliver training sessions as assigned by the training division/shift captain
• Conduct special projects and complete tasks as assigned

Qualified candidates must have an Alabama FF1 Certification, and National Registered or State of Alabama EMT-Basic license.

We are also seeking candidates with:

• At least one year experience as an Industrial Fire Fighter, or two years experience as a municipal fire fighter. 
• High School diploma, or combination of education and related experience
• Valid Alabama drivers license
• Be able to complete pre-employment physical fitness agility test
• Should have experience working with such job titles as Hazardous Materials Technician, High Angle & Confined Space Rescue Technician, Dive Rescue 1 & 2, Structural Collapse Technician, Trench Rescue Technician, and/or Industrial Fire Fighter 1. 
• Should be able to work 24/48 hour shift rotation
• Must be able to work at plant site in Calvert, Alabama
