Adoption Social Worker - Part Time

1. Promote Bethany's international adoption programs through speaking engagements at informational meetings, church groups, TV and radio spots, etc.
2. Review pre-adoptive applications and determine viability as potential adoptive families.
3. Conduct periodic adoption group meetings for prospective families interested in adoption for orientation and support.
4. Conduct home studies for initially approved families according to agency expectations and procedures.
5. Assist in adoption planning sessions along with other international adoption staff.
6. Conduct placements of children according to policies for families that have been studied and approved for adoptive placements.
7. Provide post adoptive supervision of children in placement during the supervisory period.
8. Submit post placement reports at appropriate times and make closing of adoptions according to schedule recommended by the court or required by the specific country.
9. Organize and manage time so all reports and documents are completed in a timely fashion and included in adoption records.
10. Meet regularly with supervisor to consult on cases, to review case plan and direction and to evaluate progress.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

1.     BSW or BA/BS in a human service field.

2.     Demonstrate excellent clinical and assessment skills.

3.     Demonstrate verbal and written communications skills.

4.     Eligible to obtain professional licensure or registration.

5.     Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions.

6.     Maintain a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage.

7.     Prior experience in child welfare or adoptions.

8.     Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, Cultural Diversity Commitment.
