Description

Hunter Engineering Company is a world leader in automotive service equipment, offering state-of-the-art wheel alignment systems, brake lathes, tire changers, lift racks and brake testers.  Hunter equipment is approved and used by vehicle manufacturers, automobile and truck dealers, tire dealers and automotive service facilities around the world.  We are searching for a Process Engineer for our Electronics Division. 

 

Job Summary:

Be one of the driving forces in making operational improvements in the Electronics Division.  Responsible for establishing operator friendly processes working with the Electronics Division so manufacturing objectives can be met in Quality improvement, cost improvement and product reliability.  Coordinate with manufacturing and QA management during investigation of process problems and manufacturing failures to provide solutions to prevent recurrence of problems/failures.  Investigate and evaluate new equipment and processes and projecting their ROI.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain all processes while working with manufacturing personnel at a level where product can be successfully produced at standard cost while maintaining the goal of defect free products.

 

Establish communications and good working relationship with Electronics, QA, Engineering and Purchasing as issues arise on manufacturing caused product quality problems and design problems.

 

Investigate all QIR's and CAR's assigned to Electronics, implementing process changes and procedures to keep rejects from being repeated.

 

Interface with Electronics Supervision, QA and Management on all process changes, while using them as a valuable resources for information.

 

Assist Engineering with design related problems and their effect on Electronics manufacturing capabilities. 

 

Desired Qualifications:

Proven track record as a process engineering person in a similar facility.

 

Excellent communication skills with all levels in the organization.

 

A self-starter, eager to address problems and improve processes while clearly communicating to all levels within the organization objectives and plans.

 

Excellent aptitude and proven problem solving skills, while maintaining a clear view of the impact on Electronics manufacturing capabilities.

Proven leadership skills of salaried workforce.

Familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts, Kanbans and Kaizan events.







Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.

Three (3) to five (5) experience in Printed Circuit fabrication/Assembly or related fields using the latest technologies; 

Knowledge and experience with Quality SPC Programs, Lean Manufacturing, Design of Experiments and Process Problem Analysis;

Demonstrated success and cost improvements through process improvements and meeting production requirements by establishing reliable/repeatable processes.
