Our client is a global market leader ($4 bil) in the packaging industry serving food, agricultural and industrial markets.  On their behalf, we seek a Human Resources Manager for their large flagship manufacturing operation (>400 associates) in the southeast. With a solid generalist foundation, this manager must be adept at coaching her/his peers of the site management team, have a track record of effectiveness operating under labor agreements, and be comfortable at the table during contract negotiations.  More than just 'personnel', we seek that person with business moxie who sees beyond the realm of human resources as a partner to the site general manager in creating a culture driven for success.

This critical leader must be effective in bringing the human touch to necessary policies and practices ... and so, a person with sound decision-making based on facts while adept in the 'soft side' of dealing with people.

Requirements

This Human Resource Manager will have these qualifications:

 

- A 'mentor' to peers ... adept at the coaching and training of management skills with the senior management team;  
 

- Intuitive sense of balance between 'soft' desirables and profit-driven results to create a culture of understanding and engagement of all; 

 

- Thorough grounding in employment law (local, state, federal)... with sensitivity to ethnic and cultural diversity;

 

- Derives satisfaction from innovation within a manufacturing environment operating within a labor agreement.;

 

ESSENTIAL: Familiarity of working alongside a unionized workforce is mandatory.
