COTA - Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

HealthSouth is searching for Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTA) to assist the occupational therapist in  treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, professional and federal regulations and guidelines. 

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment.

The position will include (but is not limited to) assisting in the evaluation and treatment of patients with the following:

• Arthritis
• Burns
• Congenital anomalies
• Dupuytren's contractures
• Flexor and extensor tendon repairs
• Fractures/dislocations
• Nerve involvement/repairs
• Reflex sympathetic dystrophy
• Sports injuries
• Tendon transfers
• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• DeQuervain's syndrome
• Epicondylitis
• Raynaud's syndrome
• Trigger finger
• Tendinitis/Tenosynovitis
• Ganglion cystic tumor

Education, Training, Experience and License/Certification Requirements

• Must have current state license or certification; in states where licensing is not required, defer to state practice act. 
• CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy.
• Successfully completed a Associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
