Red Rock Behavioral Health Services was founded in 1974 as a private, not-for-profit comprehensive behavioral health service provider. Today, Red Rock operates 14 offices and service delivery locations as well as 7 residential facilities and 3 adult/children crisis intervention centers serving a total of 24 counties in Oklahoma and employing nearly 450 professionals including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Registered Nurses, Case Managers, administrative and supporting staff.

Description of Registered Nurse - Children's Crisis Unit:

Responsibilities:

• Performs nursing assessments in order to identify clients needs, plan of care.
• Provides treatment for existing and emergency health care conditions.
• Assesses for medical appropriateness for admission and continually assesses throughout clients' stay.
• Consults with Psychiatrist if change in medical status occurs with referral to more appropriate level of care from crisis center.
• Administers medication and maintains clinical charts. Observes, records, and initiates appropriate action concerning client reaction to medication and therapeutic procedures.
• Monitors activities and job duties of Mental Health Assistants assigned to their shifts.
• Reviews and monitors client's progress through supervision and disposition of cases; confers with other programs/agencies, doctors, etc. as required regarding client welfare.
• Performs a variety of professional medical nursing duties under the direction and supervision of the Psychiatrist; collection of routine laboratory specimen, administration of injectable medications, administration of emergency medication, communication with pharmacies regarding doctor's orders for medications and related duties.
• Documents care according to nursing standards of care, agency policy and procedures.
• Consistently applies nursing process in order to provide quality care for clients.
• Ensures coordination of care and continuity of care for clients.
• Performs accurate and timely documentation meeting all QA requirements and contractual requirements.
• Maintains professionalism when dealing with staff, clients, and external customers.

Requirements of Registered Nurse - Children's Crisis Unit:

Education/Experience:

• Current licensed in Oklahoma as a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge and experience working with administration of psychotropic medications.
• Knowledge of psychiatric nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.
• Experience working in a psychiatric setting.
