Description

 

AV rated law firm with emphasis in creditors’ rights seeks a full time Associate Attorney.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and representing the firm and its clients in civil lawsuits, drawing up legal documents, advising clients and practicing other phases of law by performing the following duties:

 

  • Gather evidence in civil cases to formulate defense or to initiate legal action

  • Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses and handle other details in preparation for trial

  • Prepare legal briefs; develop strategy, arguments and testimony in preparation of case

  • Confer with colleagues possessing specialty in area of lawsuit to establish and verify basis for legal proceedings

  • Represent client and/or the firm in court

  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum three years experience preferably in the mortgage or banking industry
  • Must be computer literate and able to rapidly adapt to a variety of data base systems
