$25.78/Hr

Springfield Utility Board is currently recruiting for a Water Production Operator I.  Two year’s experience in water distribution, water production operations, maintenance, plus one year's experience in water treatment is required.  Must demonstrate ability to operate and maintain a slow sand filtration plant, wellfields, pump stations, chlorination facilities, as well as monitor and adjust water quality, pressures, levels, and flows at wellfields, pump stations and reservoirs.  Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and computer aptitude is required.  

Must be a motivated self-starter, able to manage multiple work assignments and complete tasks with limited direction and/or supervision.  Must possess demonstrated skills with mechanical equipment, motor controls, process instrumentation, and programmable logic controllers.  Ability to monitor and interpret SCADA system data is required.  Required computer skills include advanced experience with Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.  Basic knowledge of groundwater, surface water, water chemistry, water quality, microbiology, and wellhead/watershed protection programs is required.  Must demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with work group and organization.
