Position Description
Provide leadership for engineering services and perform engineering services tasks to develop new designs and update existing designs. Leadership involvement in the following key areas: resource/schedule planning, progress monitoring, performance evaluation, mentoring, tool improvements, determining engineering needs, process improvements, development, verification and manufacturability.
Position Responsibilities
Provides technical and process direction to PCB Designers and Component Engineers.
Provides leadership, mentoring and supervision of PCB Designers and Component Engineers.
Plans and coordinates engineering projects while acting as a technical specialist for a specific PCB.
Reviews designs and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards.
Conducts feasibility studies, determines manpower and cost/schedule estimates and develops engineering criteria.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of new developments, technology and processes.
Monitors projects and recommends changes to improve operating efficiency.
Implements or approves engineering design documentation of higher complexity.
Develops, justifies and implements process improvements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE).
Eight years highly applicable and relevant experience.
Strong technical and leadership skills in complex PCB design and Component Engineering.
Excellent interpersonal and administrative skills.
Understand and follow good electrical development processes.
Experience managing electronic components in corporate PLM tool.
High degree of creativity.
Excellent verbal and written documentation and communication skills.
Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong ability to influence individuals and groups.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Proficient with Cadence/Allegro.
Proficient with eCentral PLM.
