Description

Private career school seeks professional Electrician to teach commercial & industrial maintenance electricity. Must have min 3 yrs practical work experience including PLC's. General Description: Responsible to teach assigned classes and to effectively manage the day to day operation of the classroom. Duties include lesson preparation and delivery, advising, tutoring and attendance and academic recordkeeping.

Responsible to teach assigned classes and to effectively manage the day to day operation of the classroom. Duties include lesson preparation and delivery, advising, tutoring and attendance and academic recordkeeping.

Primary Functions:

1. Teach assigned classes covering all material within allotted time in accordance with

approved outlines. Method and order of covering material is left to the discretion of the

instructor. Provide tutorial and remedial help to students outside of normal class time as

requested and scheduled by your supervisor.

2. Directly supervise all students assigned to your classes, and help maintain discipline

wherever and whenever necessary throughout the school, in accordance with established

school policy.

3. Participate in school and departmental meetings and initiate new ideas for departmental and school improvement to immediate supervisor.

4. Advise students concerning academic performance, attendance and behavioral problems and record such discussions on appropriate forms.

5. Record midterm and final grades on grade sheets and issue to students each semester.

Calculate and record student GPA and report to immediate supervisor.

6. Complete necessary paperwork, including monthly evaluation forms, and JTPA and OVR forms for sponsored students, in accordance with business office time schedules.

7. Take daily student attendance in class and record names of absent students on daily

absence forms. Follow up on absentees as required by immediate supervisor.

8. Pursue professional improvement when possible, such as attending seminars and

workshops, CBTE program and taking courses at local colleges.

9. Submit documentation of student misconduct to immediate supervisor.

10. Maintain tidy and clean classrooms.

11. Participate on committees, extra curricular activities and orientation as requested by

immediate supervisor.

12. Submit purchase requisitions to immediate supervisor for necessary lab materials and

equipment.

13. Develop a professional instructor attitude by commanding respect, maintaining order,

establishing a routine and creating an atmosphere of high level instruction.

14. Remain with your class, calling on each student several times each class session, and do not dismiss until the proper time.

15. Secure your classroom and equipment at the end of each day.

16. Prepare daily lesson plans for all assigned classes and update as necessary.

17. Assist admissions personnel with tours for prospective students.

18. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other personnel as required.
