Description

The Senior Director, Military is a key member of the Energy Storage Solutions team, and is responsible for leading the sales, marketing & business development activities in the identification and growth of the Company’s energy storage systems business in the Military markets.

 

 Responsibilities:      

 

  • Execute the company’s Military business plan through the deployment and coordination of division engineering  and  business development resources on targeted projects

 

  • Build and manage the key relationships necessary to educate and “sell" our energy storage technology and systems solutions to decision makers

 

  • Oversee and support government and government contractor contracts currently in place, updates contracts in place and creates new contracts as opportunities become available

 

  • Make a substantial contribution through selfless collaboration with all levels of engineering, product management and project management to ensure the delivery of customized high-value solutions

 

  • Review and approve all contractual documents for protection of Company’s Intellectual Property and policies and for the satisfaction of government/customer specifications and requirements

 

  • Manage relationships across all levels of the Military customers

 

  • Serve as functional authority on contractual documents obligating the Company

 

  • Assist Business Development and Engineering management as required.  Coordinates administration of contracts including, but not limited to, preparation and negotiation of proposals; monitoring performance and compliance; maintaining close liaison with customer functional departments and program management; assures all correspondence is properly distributed;

 

 

 

 

Competencies:        

Requirements

 ·         BS in   Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required
·         At least 10+ years of progressively more complex sales or business development experience in the total contracting process with the Department of Defense in Joint or service-specific military operations and/or research & development

·         Significant experience in contract administration or directly related experience involving defense, commercial and international contracting procedures with a demonstrated knowledge of FAR/DFAR/UCC or other applicable procurement regulations

·         Experience in negotiating and structuring agreements, intellectual property rights, supply agreements, terms and conditions and contracts for technology-based products

·         US Military service (Officer Level) experience required; Navy experience highly preferred

·         Power generation technology experience required; ship or submarine power generation experience a plus; land based micro grid experience a plus

·         Knowledge of renewable generation technologies preferred
