Accounting Supervisor

Dynamic and growing company is searching for an Accounting Supervisor for an immediate need due to promotion.  The Corporate Accounting Supervisor will assist the Corp. Accounting Manager with oversight of the monthly close, reviewing and preparing journal entries, reconciliations and variance explanations, mentoring staff accountants, and special projects as assigned.

 

• Assist with the oversight of the monthly close by reviewing the monthly calendar, signing-off on tasks completed, and following-up on tasks not completed by the due date.
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving assigned journal entries.
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving assigned reconciliations and variance explanations.
• Mentoring staff by defining problems and inefficiencies and working to produce more efficient and accurate policies and procedures.
• Experience with cash reconciliations.
• Special projects including improving policies and procedures related to the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly financial close.  Will also entail improvements to the variance explanation process and reconciliation process and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• Public Accounting Preferred but not required
• 5-7 Years experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
