Description
Social Services - An Area Agency on Aging seeks an Information & Assistance Specialist to assist older adults access social services/supports in Burlington/Mount Vernon, WA Office. Duties include providing information on the services, products, and/or resources available to clients and their families through social service agencies, medical providers, and community partners in the aging network.  I&A Specialists screen clients for services, make referrals to the appropriate resource(s) and provide general assistance to clients and families.   EOE

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in social services or related field; AND two years of social service experience, OR
    Two years of relevant college level courses AND four years of relevant experience.
  • Experience interviewing clients, completing client assessments, and documenting activities.
  • Experience interpreting eligibility requirements and matching clients with services in the region.
  • Experience developing and presenting information to groups of people.
  • Knowledgableof the long term care process, issues related to aging and disability, servcie delivery systems and case management.
  • Proficient computer skills in MSWord, Outlook, database management and navigating the internet.
  • Valid WDL, appropriate insurance, and a vehicle available for work-related travel.

    Preferences
  • Ability to read/understand/speak Spanish or Russian
