CLS - Clinical Laboratory Scientist

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist has a California State License and performs tests requiring the exercise of independent judgment, assigned administrative duties and responsibility under the general direction of the Laboratory Director, Laboratory Manager, and Laboratory Supervisor. This includes all the necessary processes ancillary to such testing including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, equipment and glassware maintenance, reporting of findings, record keeping, reagent monitoring and ordering, quality assurance and quality improvement procedures, development of new or modified test procedures, and necessary administrative duties as may be assigned. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform only those tests for which the scientist is qualified by education, training, and/or experience.


This position is represented by Engineers & Scientists of California, and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
