Description The person in the position is responsible for designing and directing the implementation of a comprehensive plan that provides goals and strategies for ensuring the execution of all placement activities for the designated caseload of 6-9 children placed in the Therapeutic Family Care Program.  The Program Specialist provides intensive therapeutic services to clients and their families, and foster families in settings other than a provider agency or office.  The Program Specialist also identifies behavior goals and intervention techniques, and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods.  The Program Specialist will contribute to the service and safety planning, all within the agency and state standards and regulations.  The Program Specialist will also assist the Program Supervisor and County Director with marketing strategies, recruitment, training, and approval activities of foster families, and record-keeping activities.  This position requires extensive traveling throughout the service area of the program site, as well as occasional travel throughout the commonwealth.

This position will cover all of Washington, Greene, Fayette and Beaver counties.  Travel will be required through all counties.
Requirements

Required that qualified applicants will have a Mater's Degree in a mental health-related Human Service field. The Program Specialist must also have at least two years of  relevant experience working with children in the Mental Health or Child Welfare system.
